We are honored to welcome Bob Trate, Programming Director of The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville — home of the world-famous BLOBFEST — who will deliver a special introduction before the film. ?

Bob launched the Colonial’s Fright Night series in 2008 to expand the theatre’s programming and cultivate a new generation of horror fans. Now in its 17th year, Fright Night is a major reason the Colonial has been recognized as one of the top five destinations for horror fans in the country by Box Office Pro. After serving as Marketing Director during the pandemic, Bob transitioned into Programming Director, where he continues to lead one of the most respected repertory horror programs in the nation.

Chuck Russell’s 1988 remake of The Blob is a relentless showcase of practical effects and small-town paranoia. When a mysterious gelatinous organism begins consuming everything in its path, survival becomes brutally uncertain.
